Cabernet Franc is one of the trendiest grapes today, and the Middle Ridge 2018 Cabernet Franc will remind you of a lazy, warm, sunny afternoon in the Santa Ynez Valley where the grapes were ripened. Aged 28 months in new French Oak, this scarlet-tinted wine offers a mosaic of fruit, herb and spice notes, displaying aromas of black fruit, whole green peppercorns and un-cut jalapeños along with toasty oak notes. On the palate, is warm blackberry compote and black currant jam, with firm tannins and a welcome hint of pepper on the finish.
As for pairing this wine with food, there are a lot of possibilities. Serve with a rare New York Steak with Peppercorn Sauce, Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Lamb Chops, or simple fare like Chili, Beef Stew, or a big juicy Grilled Hamburger. YUM!
